What we do

Every intercom from the front door to the gate.

An intercom is two things: the panel people talk into, and the door release it has to trigger. Most of the intercoms that fail in metro Atlanta fail at the second part.

Video intercoms

A camera and a call button at the door, an answering station or a phone app inside. You see who is there before you release the door, and the tenant or the receptionist never walks to the entrance.

Apartment buzzer systems

The directory panel at the lobby door and the handsets in each unit. We replace a whole failed system, or bring an older one back with new handsets, a new panel or a new door release.

Gate intercoms

Call boxes at a driveway, a parking lot or a warehouse gate, wired or cellular, tied to the gate operator so the release actually opens the gate.

Phone-based entry

Panels that ring a resident's cell phone instead of a wall handset, so a building can drop the in-unit wiring and residents let visitors in from anywhere.

Door release wiring

The electric strike or mag lock the intercom triggers, its power supply and the relay between them. When an intercom talks but the door does not open, this is usually where.

Repairs and replacements

Dead handsets, a panel that crackles, a release that sticks: repaired where the system is worth keeping, replaced where the parts are no longer made.

How we work

How we install an intercom.

We trace the wiring and the door release before we quote a panel

A new panel on a building's old wiring is the most common way an intercom job goes wrong. We find out what runs from the door to the units, whether it is usable, what the door release is and how it is powered. Then the estimate says which of it stays and which of it goes, and you are not paying for a second visit to discover that the strike was the problem all along.

We size the system to the building, not to a catalog

A four-unit building with a shared entry needs a different system from a sixty-unit tower or a gated lot. We ask how visitors arrive, who has to answer, whether a manager needs to unlock remotely, and whether residents want an app or a handset on the wall. Video costs more than audio, and audio is often the whole answer for a small building.

We mount, wire, program and test every station

The panel is mounted at a height a wheelchair user can reach, sealed against weather, and wired to the release. Every unit or extension is called from the door, and every one releases the door, before we leave. We hand over the programming so the next tenant change does not need a service call.

Why homeowners choose us

Why our intercoms open the door.

The panel is the visible part. The door release, the power supply and the wiring decide whether it works, and every job includes:

  • Free written estimate
  • Existing wiring and door release traced first
  • Video, audio or phone-based, sized to the building
  • Release wiring and power supply in the quote
  • Every station tested from the door before we leave
  • Programming handed over, not held back
  • Same-day service when the schedule allows
  • Homes, offices, apartment buildings and property managers

The quote

What an intercom system costs.

The panel and the stations are what a catalog prices. The wiring, the door release and the number of units are what decide the estimate, and those take a visit to know.

Always included

  • Walkthrough and a written estimate
  • Entry panel, mounted and weather-sealed
  • Answering stations, handsets or the app set up
  • Door release, relay and power supply wired
  • Every station tested from the door
  • Programming and directory entered and handed over
  • Old panel and packaging removed

What changes the number

  • Video or audio only
  • How many units or stations have to answer
  • Whether the existing wiring is usable or has to be rerun
  • Wired, cellular or phone-based entry
  • The door release: a new strike or mag lock, or the one already there
  • A gate operator to tie into

Good to know

Intercom questions building owners ask.

Not seeing yours? Call (470) 691-8439 and just ask — we're happy to help.

Can you replace just the lobby panel and keep the handsets in the units?

Often, yes, when the handsets and the wiring are from a system whose parts are still made. We check compatibility first. When they are not, a phone-based panel keeps the old handsets out of the picture entirely and the units need no wiring at all.

The intercom rings but the door does not open. Is that the intercom?

Usually not. It is the electric strike, the mag lock, the power supply or the relay between them. That is a smaller repair than a new system, and it is the first thing we check.

Do I need video?

For a home or a small building where the person answering knows the visitors, audio is often enough. For an office with a receptionist, a building where residents answer from a phone, or any entrance where you want a record of who called, video earns its cost.

Can a property manager unlock the door remotely?

With a phone-based or app-based system, yes: the manager sees the call and releases the door from anywhere. We set up who can release and who can only talk.

How long does an installation take?

A single-entrance video intercom for a home or an office is usually a day. An apartment building depends on the units and the wiring: a panel replacement on good wiring is a day, a full rewire is more, and the estimate says which before we start.

Do you install intercoms at gates?

Yes: driveway, parking lot and warehouse gates, wired or cellular, tied into the gate operator so the call box opens the gate and not just a relay.
